Cassidy is a nerdy, long-legged, southern, red-headed high school science teacher, who accepts an invite from her friend and college roommate, Macy to come for a visit at the family ranch in Big Dog, Montana.
Cassidy is excited to go and can’t wait to reconnect with her friend. However it isn’t Macy waiting for her at the airport, but instead a heart-stopping cowboy with the attitude of a skunk with rabies. Despite his grumpy attitude and rude behavior, Cassidy can’t help but feel a connection with Tuck.
It isn’t long before she starts to suspect something isn’t right with Macy and her family. Actually the whole quaint little town is a bit odd. Why does everyone keep sniffing her? And Tuck warns her of danger several times. The shocking truth once revealed leaves her in disbelief. Her scientific mind struggles to understand the truth. But what she doesn’t struggle with is her rapidly growing attraction to Tuck.
A misunderstanding on her part, after a night of passion, sends a heartbroken Cassidy running back home to Alabama. She is shocked when cowboy Tuck show up in Alabama, after all he had told her everything he needs is in Montana.
Tuck doesn’t want a human for a mate, but fates seem to feel otherwise. He knows without a doubt he is attracted to Cassidy, but how well will it go over when he tells her he’s a wolf and that she is his destiny. And will the pack except a human as their Beta’s mate?
When she misunderstands and runs home. Tuck goes after her and finds her at a family barbeque. Tuck faces down shocked family members just to talk to her. There are threats made concerning a shotgun wedding by her dad. Her proper southern mama is just horrified that they spent the night together. But Tuck loves Cassidy and wants her to come back to Montana with him and be his mate! Cassidy wants to be his wife too and won’t settle for less!
