About Eternally Wild
Melanie Davis is alive but not really living. Years ago, she faced an unspeakable tragedy that left her crippled socially. Her life consists of her career and coming home to an empty house devoid of love. That all changes when she meets a mysterious stranger. One who’s a dead ringer for the deceased lead singer of her favorite rock band, Lush.
Caesar Blue died in a tragic accident when he was twenty-eight. The gorgeous music superstar left behind a lucrative career and three bandmates who were devastated by his death. None more so than his best friend, Johnnie Vega.
Drummer Johnnie Vega always had a weakness for drugs and alcohol, and after losing his best friend, his world spun out of control. No matter how many trips to rehab he makes, Johnnie can’t shake the guilt over his friend’s death, nor the addiction he struggles with.
When Melanie realizes Caesar Blue has indeed returned to the world of the living, she finds herself falling for the enigmatic rock star. Not only does he set her on a path to fulfill her lifelong dreams, but his disarming sexuality reignites passions she long ago buried. But when Caesar’s mission to help her brings her face to face with her favorite band member, Johnnie Vega, things get complicated. As she begins to fall under the spell of her teenage crush, she discovers she and Johnnie have a mysterious connection. One that compelled Caesar to bring the two of them together. But can falling in love with a ghost and his addict best friend be a good thing?

For as long as I can remember, I've always made up stories in my head. Usually the revolved around my favorite celebrities or television shows. (The Monkees were my imaginary husbands for a time.)
My first book, "Start the Fire", from my "Love on Fire" series began from a dream I had about my favorite rock star, Billy Idol. I was eighteen when I wrote that first draft and as the years went by it morphed into the novel it is today. I finally published that novel at age fifty, proving that you are never too old to go after your dreams. That series currently has five books with more on the way.
The idea for "Eternally Wild" of the Love and Lush series started out as a dream as well. I dreamed of meeting the ghost of music legend, Michael Hutchence while rummaging through the DVD bins at Wal Mart. I woke up thinking, "What a great idea for a book". I filed the idea away until later that year when I realized it was the 20th anniversary of Michael's death. Feeling as though it was a sign, I began writing immediately. The opening scene of the novel was inspired by that dream. And Michael is the muse for the character of Caesar Blue, while my favorite guy from INXS, Jon Farriss is the muse for Johnnie Vega.
Writing is always something that came easy to me. I've always loved doing it. I do have a full time day job, so I can't crank out books the way some authors can (one day!), but I try to put out at least one a year. Currently I'm working on getting audiobooks out as well. I'm low budget and learning to do it myself. When I first attended college at age eighteen, I went in hoping to become a radio DJ or MTV VJ. When I later returned to college at age twenty-eight, I had my own radio show on campus. So I do have some broadcasting background. Eternally Wild was my very first one.
When I'm not writing, I enjoy other creative outlets such as photography. Portraits and close ups of people, animals, and nature are my preferred realm. I began bellydancing in 2002 and have performed all over northeast Florida with three different dance troupes. I quit troupe life because of how much time and money it took up. I wanted to focus my efforts on writing, but I do still teach bellydance through our local community education program.
Outside of creative pursuits, I do TNR of feral cats when I can. I have two cats I adopted from the shelter, and about five who adopted me after I socialized them. I love animals. Gorillas and cats are my favorites, but I also have a soft spot for elephants. The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is my favorite charity because of the important work they do in saving orphaned elephants and returning them to the wild. Dian Fossey, the famed gorilla researcher and Jane Goodall are two of my personal heroes.
My daughter and I like to travel to concerts (love those 80s bands) and pop culture cons like Walker Stalker and Mega Con. I've met many celebrities doing this including Jason Momoa who is a muse for another novel I'm currently working on. My favorite place to visit has been Atlanta and it's a goal of mine to move there when I retire from the day job!
